HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a Unit of
Competency that provides the skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
This Unit replaces the previous course codes HLTCPR201A, HLTCPR201B, HLTCPR211A and most recently HLTAID001.
This course includes defibrillation (AED) training, there is no longer a stand-alone defib course. So if you require AED training this is the course you should complete.

Includes CPR and emergency first aid training
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is the most recent release of the accredited Provide First Aid course. It supersedes the old HLTAID003 release of Provide First Aid and is the course your employer will likely be referring to when they ask if you have your first aid certificate.
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is the most common base first aid course in Australia and is recognised in all states and territories.
The course teaches both the theory behind and the practical application of first aid skills pertaining to over 2 dozen of the most common first aid conditions and illnesses.
You will learn how to identify signs and symptoms and provide first aid assistance in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and other relevant Australian national peak clinical bodies like Safe Work Australia , the National Asthma Council, the Epilepsy Foundation and Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA).
Course material also includes using a defibrillator (AED) and asthma training.
This course has previously been known as Apply First Aid, Senior First Aid, Level 2 Workplace First Aid and HLTAID003.

This first aid course is officially known as the Unit of Competency HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and care setting.
HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting supersedes the now-dated HTLAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting.
The unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children, and adults. The unit applies to childcare workers, educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.
This course is delivered with ALL of the content of HLTAID011 Provide First Aid plus common infant and child ailments such as febrile convulsion, fever, vomiting, diarrhoea and dehydration.
Because of its industry-specific approach, HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting, is approved by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
It may also contribute to approved first aid, asthma, and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
NSW Learners: This course is approved by ACECQA for the purposes of the Education and Care Services National Law as satisfying first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis management requirements for childcare workers.
